The Jazz Department returns for a summer of fifties and sixties jazz classics, Latin vibes, hip shaking mambo grooves, a Hammond organ selection, lounge tunes and more from the vinyl collection of retro dj Jeniffer Jackson. Enjoy the sounds of some of the greatest names in jazz: Jimmy Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Jon Hendricks, Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra and more. Jazz the way you like it without the long boring solos.
There’s live music too from stylish London outfit Lady and The Tramps, yes off down to Trampsville we go for some swinging jazz and standards from one of the tallest and coolest bands around. Based in London - Lady and The Tramps exude a strong aura of cool as they thrill you with their unique arrangements of seasoned standards, self-penned tunes, jazz classics and solid showmanship. Featuring vivacious vocalist She Rocola and solid gone guitarist Gavin Pearce, a wonderful swing to be swung from a band whose recent shows include Glastonbury, and The Jazz Café.
The Jazz Department captures that laid back vibe of the 50's 60's basement jazz clubs of Soho, Paris, Havana, LA and New York with more than a hint of cool.
