Wheely bin theft

9th January 2025 - 14:03 | Dorset, Poole

I'm sure that people who regard themselves as honest and decent have NO morals at all when faced with the opportunity to take a wheely bin. I had a brand new one about this time last year. I placed identifying stickers on it, but within a month it had been stolen (I know by whom). I've just been out to fetch bin in now and my manky damaged bin has been swapped for one without a lid. My mind is working overtime... I stress at this juncture that I am NOT going to break the law. I think that's important. Wheely bin theft will stop in my neighbourhood, possibly at the cost of my publicising one such theft... If you find yourself in the position of having a damaged wheely bin, the correct course of action is to contact the council. Doing that, rather than resorting to theft, prevents simmering bad feeling and possible repercussions in law and in print. Just saying.
I urge the person who took my bin to return it at some point...
